Hi @all, it's been a while since VS2013 was released. Because I also want to develop an windows 8.1 app, I installed VS2013 today to be able to work on my new optimzed app. My problem is now that I have both VS2012 and VS2013 installed so I have to switch depending on which project I want to use (for Delta I currently use VS2012 and my win8.1 app will require VS2013) Is DE fully compatible with VS2013 or is there maybe any problem at the moment? For now, I cannot immediately switch the IDE since .NET Demon seems not to work for VS2013 (cannot install it) and I don't want to miss it since it's quite useful ;)
It would be very nice to have everything on one IDE so I don't have to switch the tools each time.
Greetings internetfreak
P.S: according to the download page, there is an installer for v1.0.0.0 but there's no release post? Is this intended or not since I already downloaded the offered version and installed it (I also prepared some notes because I noticed some things within the editor) |

I think Benny is the only one currently using VS2013 in-house, but my understanding is that there's no issue with using VS2013 for DE - except that some tools (eg. .Net Demon) don't yet work for it like you say. As such, he's not suggested any of the rest of us switch away from VS2012 yet. Edit: On v1.0, polish is still being heavily applied. Feel free to mention anything you've noticed - it may be something that has not been spotted in-house :) Edited by user Tuesday, November 12, 2013 4:55:14 AM(UTC)

Thank for oyur answer, PG I already thought that DE is mostly compatible but I wanted to confirm it :) For .NET Demon, it is strange as it is stated as compatible for VS2013 but I cannot install it.
About the v1.0 release, I will post my results later in an extra thread so if I found something strange then it can get fixed if not done yet :) |

You can use VS2013 with the DeltaEngine, Benjamin and me using it now for several weeks without problems. Together with R# 8 it's really nice and smooth to use. .Net Demon/NCrunch is also working fine, maybe you should try the latest release again. |

Ok thanks for the answer hendrik. I also contacted the support of RedGate because of .NEt demon and they said it works also because they released a patch for the plugin. Maybe I had some bad luck yesterday and still got the old version :) For the other plugins I don't have any license (if necessary) so I don't use them. |

About .NET Demon: They messed up their VS2013 release, only the version from the Extension Manager inside of VS2013 works, the one from their website or the VS gallery was broken last month (it only supported VS2012 and below), dunno if they have fixed it since. Good luck with the v1.0 RC

Meanwhile I installed .NET Demon on VS2013 so I fully moved to VS2013 :) They released an updated vsix on their website so it is not longer broken |
