Is there any reason DE couldn't in the future deploy to a Raspberry Pi?

Not that I have any need for it, I was just curious... :)

Several videos I watched showed the Raspberry Pi running a flavor of Linux, I would, therefore, assume that you'd be able to use DE -> Linux Build to run things on an RP.

As long Mono can be used on the target device we can compile for it and support it: http://stackoverflow.com...velop-armv6-raspberry-pi

So yes, it would be possible, but I guess there are not many standard libraries available for Input, Graphics, Multimedia, Platform, etc. thus it could be very hard to make anything useful on Raspberry Pi without implementing all those libraries. Things like OpenGL support might be easy (because others will obviously need that as well), other things like supporting multimedia files might be hard.

So this will not be a serious target platform anytime soon (except if many people request it).

PS: We also bought a PandaBoard a few years ago and tried out the Micro.NET framework for other custom hardware, but except for experimentation there was not much use commercially to do anything yet ...

Given enough time, I'm sure the support will be there. The entire purpose of this device seems to be aimed at being a stationary mobile (!) device for multimedia uses.
