Hi,

I just have experienced a weird behavior of the content system.
Tested with this 1280x720 PNG Image, what it should look like:
UserPostedImage

What it looks like when using the default settings (just adding the image to the content manager):
UserPostedImage

What it looks like when changing "Opacity" to "Translucency" manually in ContentMetadata.xml. The background is rendered first but it still covers some elements? (The bricks are not rendered anymore for some reason) And why is it stretched so weird?

Shouldn't determine the content manager whether the image has an alpha channel or not?

btw: entering this text makes the forum preview crash :)

Thanks for the detailed error report. Should work, but I don't know what the issues with the image are (there are probably some warnings on the content generation side, which will be transmitted to the client in v0.9.1, but not in v0.9.0 yet). The image is also quite big and from the content it should be a .jpg file (which can be 10 times smaller) to keep the uploaded file and network transmission low. But anyway, that file should work fine, we have textures up to 4096 pixels, we will try out and see what happened there.

The second image is actually a known OpenTK loading error when the wrong pixel format is used. The last image has the same issue, but looks better because it just leaves out every 4. pixel.

This issue should be fixed in v0.9.1, can you confirm this Florian? Thanks!

Tested and confirmed in 0.9.1.2 .
But the content manager could still be improved to detect alpha channel PNGs automatically BigGrin

02.658 Loaded Png Image might cause problems 'Content\planet_bg_0_720p.png' has alpha (switching to this), but the given blend mode 'Opaque' from the content system says we have no alpha

But thanks for the fix, can give the game a more spacy feeling now Cool

Yes, that bug is still open. In fact the ContentServer has not been restarted since v0.9.0. I will do so shortly after we are done with all the testing.
