Hi,

Sprites are now using materials and it looks like that only the DeltaEngine-Editor can create materials.

Is it possible to use the DeltaEngine-Editor with disk content?
If not how can I create a new Project where I can upload my content?

And why are you using materials instead of images?

kind regards,
Dominik

You can still use the imageName constructor of Sprite (with the version coming out tomorrow), which will internally create a 2DUV material for you.
http://help.deltaengine.net/html/AllMembers_T_DeltaEngine_Rendering_Sprites_Sprite.htm

However a material can be many things: A simple image, an animation from images or a sprite sheet. In addition you can setup different shaders (and later use multiple texture maps), the animation duration and a default blend color. This makes working with both sprites and 3D textures much easier and flexible.

You can use DiskContent locally, which will create the required ContentMetaData.xml file, but it will only work on your PC or if you copy the result to another PC. For full multiplatform support and compiling your game in our cloud to different platforms (or for a better optimized Windows platform build) the Editor needs to be used to make sure all content files have properly be setup. Let us know if you have any questions regarding the ContentManager or Editor.

With DiskContentLoader you just put whatever content you need in your local \Content folder (in your \bin\Debug output folder).

For the default online content you open up the DeltaEngine.Editor.exe and drag and drop your content into a newly created project. Then you can use it in any C# or C++ project that starts with the same name (e.g. LogoApp and LogoApp.Tests both use content from the "LogoApp" content project).

Stefan, our main developer for the editor will guide you through this in the upcoming days as we are working on tutorials and more screenshots for this.
